About Us
Your Child Is in Great Hands
About Us
We are an Early Childhood Education Academy in the urban core of the community to serve children ages 6 weeks-5 years. The Academy has implemented a comprehensive approach to our student's health, nutrition, growth & development. We emphasize parental engagement with a focus on activities that are structured toward the betterment of the children. The Academy opened October 2014.
Our Two-Generational approach is what makes Early Explorers Child Development Academy unique---- integrating high-quality education for children, workforce readiness, and parenting programming for families. This strategy along with the collaboration of educators and parents will ensure school readiness, create nurturing and secure environments for children and connect families to their community.
Our Philosophy
At EECDA, we believe ALL children should be given an opportunity to develop a sense of self-esteem and
“I-Can” through a quality educational experience. We work diligently to provide an environment that promotes cognitive, social, and emotional growth. We are aware that all children come with a special gift and something to offer and understand that is our responsibility to support them by providing educational opportunities that will develop “the whole child” and prepare them for a successful educational journey.
It is our belief that children learn best by doing. Our nurturing and dedicated caregivers strive to implement hands on opportunities in order to foster creativity and active learning. Our developmentally appropriate, research-based practices help children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. The teachers here at EECDA have unique strengths and are consistently modeling positive behavior, encouraging creativity, while embracing their role as facilitator and nurturer to the children in their care.
Children’s learning is an active process and children should have access to age appropriate materials and developmentally appropriate activities in order to thrive and grow as learners. Our state of the art classrooms are thoughtfully designed to be beautiful as well as an environment that is conducive to learning. Learning will be evident throughout the center and in classrooms. Teachers will be actively engaged with children on projects and daily activities where social interaction with peers and adults is encouraged for problem solving, language development, art appreciation, explorations and a love of learning.
In order for children to thrive, basic needs are essential. We will continue to work tirelessly to provide for “our” children’s physical and emotional well - being by establishing a warm, caring and consistent place where ALL children develop a sense of “I-Can”.
